"WASHINGTON -- Matt Harvey might be bloodied, but won’t be vacating his spot in the Mets’ rotation. The sputtering right-hander will make his next start, manager Terry Collins said Wednesday, a day after Harvey surrendered three home runs against the Nationals and lost his third straight game. Harvey, who is 3-7 with a 6.08 ERA, will start on Monday against the White Sox at Citi Field, scuttling the suggestion he would be better off skipping a start or working to overcome his issues in the minors. Collins met with Harvey on Wednesday morning and announced his decision shortly after. Collins consulted with general manager Sandy Alderson and pitching coach Dan Warthen before meeting with Harvey. Harvey had bolted the stadium Tuesday without addressing the media, and again declined to comment to reporters Wednesday.
