"Time Warner Cable's long-suffering customers may finally get some relief. New owner Charter Communications plans to phase out the much-maligned Time Warner Cable name over the coming months, which should come as no surprise given how unpopular the company is with consumers. Time Warner Cable, which provides pay-TV, high-speed internet and phone service for 14 million customers across the country, scored the lowest not only among cable companies but among all of the 300 companies included in the American Consumer Satisfaction Index. Last year, it scored an abysmal 51 out of a possible 100. Charter, led by Tom Rutledge, a veteran cable executive and the former No. 2 at Long Island-based Cablevision, has promised to provide new jobs and better service after completing the $65 billion mega-merger on Wednesday.
