Newsclip®: [Business] FitBit is walking miles around Apple Watches | New York Post

"The Apple Watch is leading the pack in the smart-watch category, but it’s a long way from conquering the overall wearables market that’s dominated by Fitbit. About 1.5 million Apple Watches were shipped during the first quarter — more than twice the total from runner-up Samsung, according to research firm IDC Worldwide. But while Apple Watches hold a commanding market share of 46 percent in their category, their relatively steep price has kept their numbers off the wrists of buyers versus less-expensive devices from Fitbit. The latter, whose latest models include the Alta and Blaze, sold 4.8 million units in the first quarter. That gave Fitbit an overall market share of 24.5 percent in wearables, versus Apple at 7.5 percent. Still, Fitbit’s share was down from 32.6 percent a year earlier, IDC said.",
