Newsclip®: [Business] Geronimo gets permit extension for 212-MW wind project in Illinois - SeeNews Renewables

"May 19 (SeeNews) - Geronimo Energy has won a three-year extension for the special-use permits for its Green River wind project in the state of Illinois, with a maximum capacity of 212 MW.Lee County Board approved the extension on Monday with a vote of 14-9, SaukValley.com reports. The current permits were about to expire this month. When initially approving the wind project in May 2013, the county board dismissed a recommendation by the zoning board to reject the scheme. The project has been delayed since then due to litigation and state law, according to the report. The Green River wind park will cover an area of 13,500 acres (5,463 ha) in both Lee and Whiteside counties. Geronimo Energy intends to install up to 60 turbines at the site. It bought the scheme from Mainstream Renewable Energy in December 2013.", renewables.seenews.com
