Newsclip®: [Health] Woman leads Relay For Life in memory of aunt | The-Dispatch.com

"The heavy rains could not wash away the determination to make a difference as hundreds of survivors, caregivers and well-wishers gathered together at Lexington Senior High School on Friday evening for the annual Relay For Life of Davidson County. This event is not an easy one to put together, and no one understands the struggle more than Tina Royal, this year's mistress of ceremonies, event lead and entertainment chairwoman.“I was going to the committee meetings, and I guess they saw and liked my energy and asked me if I wanted to do this. (It was) kind of natural for me, because I just like fun stuff, and I like working with people,” Royal said.So this year she worked alongside the rest of the committee to organize the event and was in charge of finding or creating entertainment that would appeal to such a wide audience. Because of her efforts, the people who attended enjoyed different forms of live music, a lip syncing battle and even a “womanless beauty", www.the-dispatch.com
