Newsclip®: [Sports] Chris Wondolowski agrees to 2-year extension with Earthquakes - SFGate

"San Jose said Friday that the face of the franchise has agreed to a multiyear contract extension. The team did not disclose the value of the contract, but Wondolowski is finishing a deal that pays him $700,000 in 2016, and he would have been eligible for free agency in the offseason under Major League Soccer’s labor contract. In 2009, the Houston Dynamo traded him to the expansion Earthquakes, who retained the francise’s records and trademarks. Never a star in Houston, Wondolowski established himself as one of MLS’ most prolific scorers in San Jose, and he has has made 31 appearances for the U.S. national team, including in the 2014 U.S. World Cup. The three-time MLS All-Star is fourth all-time in MLS goals with 116, only 28 behind leader Landon Donovan, and he is second in the MLS this season with seven goals. Wondolowski’s new contract gives him the opportunity to catch the retired Donovan while wearing Earthquake blue. Where I get to celebrate it", www.sfgate.com
