Newsclip®: [Health] Ohio Senate revises marijuana bill - Toledo Blade

"COLUMBUS — With a vote expected today, the Ohio Senate has revised a landmark bill legalizing marijuana for medical use to more closely resemble a competing proposed constitutional amendment that could appear on the fall ballot. While House Bill 523 still prohibits smoking and home-growing of marijuana, the bill now contains a provision to allow patients to begin using marijuana while waiting for the state to set up the program. The affirmative defense would allow those armed with recommendations from their physicians to obtain marijuana products legally in another state and properly use it in Ohio without fear of criminal prosecution. That window would open when the law takes effect, 90 days after Gov. John Kasich’s signature, and close 60 days after the state begins accepting", www.toledoblade.com
