"Over the past several days, the 345,000 residential customers of the city’s Solid Waste Management Department have been receiving letters explaining that they could face $25 fines for dropping trash in the blue recycling carts. Beginning this month, residents who put trash in their recycling bins could see fines in their monthly CPS Energy bills. Organic materials such as grass clippings and tree branches go into the green carts (you can also put greasy pizza boxes in there). Like your hypodermic needles, full bags of trash, dirty diapers and shark heads. The people in charge of sorting recycling materials from the blue carts have found multiple shark heads.
