"The Poker Academy is proud to announce the public launch of their brand new course, limit hold’em, featuring guest instructor, Ian Johns! Check it out here! Ian Johns is a three-time WSOP bracelet winner, two of those coming this year already at the 2016 WSOP. The most exciting thing is that two of his bracelets come in the game of limit hold’em, including his most recent win in the $10,000 buy-in limit hold’em championship just last week! To say that Ian is crushing the WSOP this year would be an understatement. And if you’re looking to get better at limit hold’em, who better to learn from than the guy who has won two WSOP bracelets in that game? Not only that, but he’s also joined in the instruction by The Poker Academy’s lead instructor, Rep Porter, also a three-time WSOP bracelet winner and a limit specialist! This is the best course on limit hold’em available anywhere on the market and you can check it out and see a free preview by", www.cardplayer.com
"The $3,000 six-max pot-limit Omaha event at the 2016 World Series of Poker drew a field of 580 players, creating a total prize pool of $1,583,400. After three days of play, it was Russian poker pro Viatcheslav Ortynskiy who came away with the win, along with the $344,327 first-place prize. This was the 36-year-old’s fourth career WSOP final table appearance. In 2013, he won $108,701 and $94,664 for finishing third and fourth in the $1,500 and $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. events. In 2014, he took fifth in the $10,000 Omaha eight-or-better event for $110,113. This year, he finally secured the win. “It’s amazing,” Ortynskiy said afterward, struggling to find words to express his emotions. Ortynskiy is now the tenth Russian poker player to win a WSOP bracelet. Russia has 12 bracelets overall, with Viatcheslav Zhukov and Vitaly Lunkin each earning two. The final table featured bracelet winner Randy Ohel, who earned $141,187 for his third-place finish. This was Ohel’s", www.cardplayer.com
"Jason Mercier is at it again. On Tuesday, the Floridian sat with about an average stack with just 16 remaining out of a starting field of 163 in event no. 32 ($10,000 Omaha Hi-Low Eight-Or-Better Championship). A final table would be his fourth of the summer. A win would be a remarkable third bracelet of the summer. Only Puggy Pearson, Phil Hellmuth, Ted Forrest, Phil Ivey and Jeff Lisandro have won three bracelets in a year. Lisandro last did it in 2009. Not including his payday in event no. 32, Mercier has cashed for $868,549 so far this summer. He has also won an undisclosed amount in side bets. The most talked about wager has been the one with fellow PokerStars Team Pro Vanessa Selbst, who gave Mercier 180:1 odds on $10,000 back in January against a Mercier hat-trick this summer. Selbst said three days ago that she has successfully “hedged for a lot of it.” She said it wasn’t with Mercier. “Still have a decent sweat,” she admitted. In other words, a", www.cardplayer.com
