"The four-game losing streak isn’t the only bad news at Citi Field. A day after Juan Lagares was put on the disabled list, the Mets added Jose Reyes, thanks to a lingering left rib cage injury. Then Yoenis Cespedes was pulled during the 7-2 loss to the Rockies when he felt tightness in his sore right quad that has bothered him since before the All-Star break. Cespedes started feeling a reoccurrence during Friday’s game, and when it happened again Saturday — coupled with the slick field — Terry Collins decided to yank him. Both Cespedes and Collins said they were optimistic the left fielder wouldn’t need a DL stint of his own, but that was the hope for Reyes, as well. “He’s probably playing with more discomfort than he’s letting on,” Collins said of Cespedes. “We’re gonna do the best we can to make sure he stays off the DL. We need him, need his bat in the lineup. If we need to give him a day every third", nypost.com

"NEW YORK (AP) — The Mets put infielder Jose Reyes on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of a strain in his left ribcage and filled the roster spot by signing free agent outfielder Justin Ruggiano. The 33-year-old Reyes was hitting .239 with three home runs, eight RBIs and three stolen bases in 16 games for the Mets. Reyes went on the disabled list a day after outfielder Juan Lagares was put on the DL. Ruggiano has hit .256 with 49 homers and 153 RBIs in parts of eight seasons with Texas, the Cubs, the Dodgers, Miami, Seattle and Tampa Bay. To make room on the roster, the Mets transferred pitcher Matt Harvey to the 60-day DL.", www.ctpost.com
